According to the UNCTAD Trade and Development Report 2025, over 90% of global trade remains dependent on the USD-dominated international banking system. Despite this reliance, reports from the IMF and the United Nations indicate that approximately 30% to 33% of developing economies are currently facing severe USD shortages.
In cross-border trade with emerging markets facing USD shortages, many businesses increasingly encounter counterparties requesting to pay in USDT. However, not all companies are willing or equipped to handle crypto assets.
Against this backdrop, XREX Pay today launched its new feature, PayLynk, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to receive USD directly from counterparties paying in USDT or USD, bridging the gap between crypto payment preferences and traditional USD settlement.
XREX Pay’s PayLynk: Receiving USD from USDT Payments Made Easy
XREX Pay, a cross-border B2B payment platform offering multi-currency business accounts and supporting both fiat and stablecoins, was launched in November 2024. Operating under a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), XREX Pay enables SMEs to streamline their management of accounts receivable and payable.
PayLynk, XREX Pay’s latest feature, allows businesses to receive USD from counterparties who prefer to pay in USDT, even if the payer lacks a USD account, while ensuring recipients do not need to manage crypto assets themselves.
How PayLynk Works?
Collecting payments through PayLynk is a streamlined, two-step process:
Step 1: Counterparty Profile Review
- Onboarding: Once the XREX Pay user adds the counterparty’s information, the system generates a secure link.
- Data Collection: The counterparty selects their preferred payment method and submits required documentation.
- Review: XREX Pay reviews the counterparty’s profile and documents to ensure regulation and internal compliance.
Step 2: Collecting Payments
- Request: The user initiates a payment request on the XREX Pay platform, generating a unique payment link.
- Delivery: The link is sent to the payer.
- Settlement: The payer confirms payment in USD or USDT.
- USD Payments: Processed via the traditional SWIFT banking system.
- USDT Payments: Processed instantly via XREX Pay’s embedded Wallet.
Once the payer completes the payment, users receive USD in their XREX Pay account.
How Much is the Service Fee?
Transactions on XREX Pay are subject to a 0.5% service fee based on the total payment amount, with a minimum fee of USD 25 per transaction. Fee allocation may be designated as payable by the sender, payable by the recipient, or shared equally between both parties, as selected at the time of submission. The minimum payment amount is USD 100, with a maximum limit of USD 3,000,000 per transaction, subject to applicable limits and compliance requirements.
Why Choose XREX Pay?
- Verified third-party payouts: Counterparty identity and bank account details are subject to verification prior to payment execution.
- Compliant, document-backed payments: Payments are supported by required trade documentation and are subject to transaction monitoring and screening in accordance with applicable AML/CFT and know-your-transaction (KYT) requirements. Furthermore, each transaction generates a corresponding payment proof, which can be exported for internal accounting, tax filing, or submission to banks for regulatory reporting purposes.
- Streamlined USD/USDT Payments: Users can easily request USD-denominated payment transfers from counterparties. These payments are executed by the counterparty using their supported USD or USDT balances, ensuring a seamless settlement process. Upon completion, official payment confirmations are automatically issued to both the sender and the recipient for full transparency.
XREX Pay: Multi-Currency Accounts, Send Payment & PayLynk
Following the launch of XREX Pay’s “Send Payment” feature in December 2025, which allows users to send USD or USDT directly to third-party in USD, PayLynk builds on this functionality by addressing the receiving side. Together, these features create a full-cycle solution for cross-border payments, streamlining both sending and receiving funds.
With its multi-currency business accounts, Send Payment feature, and the newly launched PayLynk, XREX Pay delivers a seamless, “frictionless” experience for SMEs operating in or trading with emerging markets. Users enjoy the flexibility of sending funds in either USD or USDT based on their preference. To streamline the experience and remove the complexity of managing crypto assets, the system automatically converts USDT to USD upon settlement; consequently, recipients receive funds exclusively in USD at this stage.
